Starting Lineup Breakdown

Now that hoops has restarted and folks have had a chance to watch some games (sooooo soothing to the soul!) its time to take a look at the Knicks starting lineup and check out some opportunities for improvement! To make things simple for folks we are gonna break it down in a nice table

For the slots in green I am feeling where these players fall in the allocated slots. The SF/PF/C combo is set to make noise. Mitchell Robinson is a BEAST whose star should shine for years to come!!

RJ is gonna be the face of the franchise and the sky is the limit in terms of where his career can go. Julius Randle has his moments but puts up great numbers! If RJ and Mitch continue to develop the Randle’s numbers will be even better next year.

Nooooooooooooow

The items in yellow are TBD in my opinion. Elfrid Payton is a great player but not sure if he is going to flourish as a starter. I am rooting HEAVY for Dennis Smith Jr. but the time to make is happen is NOW. I have him highlighted in yellow because I struggle where he can shine. Certainly, it would be great for him to add his athleticism to the starting lineup but the jump shot will need to improve so opposing defenses have something focus on (29.6% three point percentage hopefully will improve). Reggie Bullock had his moments and probably best suited out this group to start. Nevertheless, as we enter free agency and the draft these areas in yellow are opportunities where the team can improve. Leon Rose and World Wild Wes…lets make some magic happen and give this roster a boost!
